Since April 2023, Sudan has been embroiled in an ongoing crisis, displacing millions and leaving families struggling to survive amidst war and chaos. The scale of the refugee crisis is staggering—what began as a few thousand refugees has now escalated to more than 18 million people fleeing violence and destruction. Gaffar Gailani and Omer Saeed, both from New Jersey, alongside Mr. Nasir and Abdulrahim from New York, united in their determination to help the Sudanese refugees who had been forced to flee their homes and seek safety in neighboring Egypt or within Sudan itself. The founding members saw the urgent need for coordinated humanitarian aid and recognized the power of collective action to address a crisis of this scale.

Providing Essential Aid: Food, Medical Care, and Shelter

The primary goal of SAER is to provide immediate, lifesaving support to refugees, most of whom are women and children. The organization’s efforts focus on supplying essential resources such as:

• Medical Aid: Offering medical supplies and support to address urgent health needs, from injuries sustained in conflict to the spread of diseases in refugee camps.
